INDEP sensitized trainers providing SMEs with trainings, post-training follow-ups and coaching to gender issues through an interactive online session provided by a gender specialist. Trainers enthusiastically took part, creating an interesting dialogue, and later requesting further sensitization and training.
Gender sensitization is the process of changing people’s behavior by raising their awareness on gender equality issues. Trainers are respected and listened to by training participants who are SME owners or managers. With sensitization, trainers could pass the message on gender equality, elimination of discrimination, and prevention of violence against women and girls to participating SMEs. SMEs can then contribute to eliminating gender-based prejudices, attitudes and stereotypes in working cultures within their businesses and society.
